Food, Family, & Faith

It Seems To Me I’ve Heard this Song Before

The other day while walking through my favorite place to shop I was asked a question by my favorite “Apron Meals” chef who has also become a friend and follower of our blog.  She said you know I haven’t really seen anything new lately. She told me how much she enjoyed seeing all the new recipes and reading our stories. She apologized afterwards and said I’m not trying to tell you what to do or anything I was just curious if something happened.
I had a plethora of excuses well not really excuses these things did happen. In January I broke my foot and ankle (which should have given me even more time) since I was pretty much housebound for 6 -8 weeks.  In late February I broke out into this horrible itchy rash which lasted weeks! In March I lost my Dog of 15 years.  I had a fall at a store, my Daughter was in between moving and the list goes on and on. I have not done the blog, I have not followed the eating plan I said I was going to do. My internet sales are at an all time low because I haven’t put the work into it.
The past few weeks have been weeks of reflecting for me. I have thought about my life and what it has become. Rather boring actually doing the same repetitious things day after day after day. Writing my lists of menus only to push them aside week after week. Making the same sad food choices week after week. Saying ok next week I am going to get a blog up only to see it is now 8 days, 9 days later.
So the other day I read a quote by Mark Twain it went like this..
Twenty years from now
you will be more disappointed
by the things that you didn’t do
than by the ones you did do.
So throw off the bowlines.
Sail away from the safe harbor.
Catch the trade winds in your sails.
Explore. Dream. Discover
After reading that I realized I have a lot of dreams. One of my dreams was to have an awesome blog page that I could meet wonderful people like yourselves through. I want to ride in the London Eye, I want to travel to South Dakota to surprise my cousin, I would love to buy groceries for at least one person every week, I want to supply Christmas for a family. I want to make a difference in the lives of many.. God put a dream in my heart over a year ago to get healthy and pass the knowledge that I learned through it on to others. I have realized people are my passion. People are part of my dream. I need to start achieving what I have been put here to do. It all starts with me…The dream starts today with this blog. You will be hearing much more from me. Thank you Mason Jar Mamas  family for listening and a very special thank you to my favorite Apron Meals Chef Linda 🙂  Now it’s time for me to go start doing some listings and doing this thing called life…Mama Carol
