DIY Sweet Tea Lip Scrub

I wanted a simple lip scrub, but stores like lush are too far away, and ya’ll it’s no secret that we are southern, and with that comes a love of all things bacon, but it also means an allegiance to sweet tea. Down here when someone asks you if you want Tea we aren’t talking about the hot stuff.  Some of us take the easy way out and use a mix, while others go the extra mile and sun brew their tea.

For this recipe you only need 3 ingredients – Sweet Tea Mix, White Granulated Sugar, & Coconut oil.

In general coconut oil at room temperature should already be liquid or close to it, but if it’s not pop it in the microwave or set it on a sunny windowsill for a few minutes.

Once your coconut oil is liquid simply mix 1 teaspoon coconut oil with 1/2 tsp white sugar, and 1 tsp sweet tea mix. You can toss it in the fridge to firm it up or use it right away. I will usually scoop a little bit up with a clean finger and scrub my lips that way, if I feel they need a little firmer approach I’ll use a toothbrush to aid in exfoliation.

Rinse and finish with a vitamin e oil, or preferred lip moisturizer.

I store my scrub in the fridge in an airtight container for up to 3 weeks since all my ingredients are pretty shelf stable.
